Maybe you’ve heard about the pelvic floor, maybe you haven’t. And as much as we could delve into the floor and all it’s intricacies, I’d love to share the connection to the nervous system.

If our body feels as if it is in a constant state is chaos and stress and survival, the body will respond..the way it should. A list of a million to-dos, nonstop sensory overload, memories of trauma bubbling up, and quite the demanding lifestyle set by unrealistic expectations of society. WOOF.

Your heart rate and respiration increases including a lack-luster diaphragm muscle engagement. The vagus nerve gets all sorts of overwhelmed. Your digestions goes haywire and out of whack. Your shoulders will tense, the booty will fire up, your entire body prepares to.. survive. Your body and mind begin to disconnect in response and guess what else intensifies?

The pelvic floor. And although a “tighter pelvic floor” may be sought after to hold things in or make intimacy more fathomable according to plenty of songs written about it, we must practice full range of motion within these highly functional muscles. Breathing, posture, mental health, environment checks and overall health and well being are essential to whole body health, and a desirable quality of life with meaningful occupations.

Want to get even more fun? You have 7 chakras throughout your body. The chakras are an inner energy roadmap for the body. When chakras are all aligned and connected to each other, energy flows freely. We’ve got some fun mudras that lock these energy centers into place, for steady support when needed.
